NOTD: Essie Sleek Stick in Embrace the Lace

So, this was another go with the appliqués. I’m not sure I love them yet. I do like this pattern though.

Isn’t it pretty?!  My nails are still getting over the peeling/dryness that I has put my NOTDs on hold.  I should have more up soon though 🙂  Wish my nails luck!

Review: Fortune Cookie Soap Solid Smell Good

Goodness gracious.  I really, really wanted to love this product.  I thought it would be a great travel thing since it’s solid and doesn’t need to be in my little TSA baggie.  And it was great to travel with, but it really broke my legs out.  I don’t understand why, but my legs are pretty sensitive.  It didn’t break out my arms and torso, but it did make them itchy.

It moisturized okay.  It wasn’t great, but it was better than a thin lotion.

Overall Grade: D-.  I don’t think I’ve ever given that grade before, but this was just bad.  If you don’t have sensitive skin then you might be able to get away with this.

Random Thoughts – 1.16.13

Yeah, so I’ve been really slacking on the posting front haven’t I?  I’ve just been so busy and I’m really getting strict with myself about this whole no-buy Project Pan 2.0 situation.  I’m just running out of ideas for things to post about.  I have a few reviews in the works of things that I tried over the winter holidays, but other than that I’ve got nothing.  What should I write about??

I’ve just been painting my house and planning the wedding.  It’s just been a lot of stuff to get done.  I  have a lot of cute little DIY projects that I need to get done for organizational purposes as well.  I’m going to make a nail polish rack for in the office (inside the closet is where I’m going to be putting mine).  I’m also making a palette to depot this giant Clinique palette.  I love their shadows, but this palette doesn’t fit in my makeup storage and if I can’t make them all fit then it has to go.  It’s just another part of my Project Pan 2.0 situation.

Anyway, send me some ideas for posts.  I’ll be posting more NOTDs as soon as my nails start behaving again.

Makeup Collection & Storage – January 2013

So, now that I’ve finally found cute storage containers and such I thought I’d do a collection and storage post.  This does not include my nail polish as that is still currently in 2 bins (1 tried bin and 1 untried bin).  These containers don’t have their permanent home yet as I’m still working on the office.

Here it all is.  I’ve got the drawer set as my major storage.  It currently has that Clinique palette on top since it doesn’t fit in any of my storage containers :(.  Top to bottom is lips, eyes, and then face.  Next to the drawer set are my Project Pan Rewards and my unopened/untried products as well as my false lashes.  Lastly there’s my current makeup bin.  That’s all the makeup I’m currently trying out or trying to use up.  This is a rotating type thing and it has forced me to use products that may not be getting a lot of love from me normally.

L-R: Face Drawer (#3) and Lip Drawer (#1)

L-R: Eye Drawer (#2) and Clinique Palette

Current Makeup

As you can see, I don’t keep my current lip products in here.  I keep all of my current lip products in my purse in a little pouch with some other things.  This is due to so many touch up and the fact that I switch what lip product I wear throughout the day.  Why?  I have no idea.  I’m just addicted to lip products.

L-R: Project Pan Rewards and Unopened/Untried Products+Lashes

Oh how I love my lip products.  Yes, all of my PP Rewards are lip products.  The unopened bin is mostly mascaras since I got that Lash Stash from Sephora this past Christmas.  It was way more economical that way since who actually uses up a full-size tube of mascara in time before you have to toss it?

So yes, I do think I own too much makeup.  Most specifically I think I own too many lip products as the rest of my collection is pretty reasonable.  Am I a bit ashamed to show you guys?  Yes.  And I’m hoping that this will help me realize that I own a lot of great products already so I don’t need any more.

Share with me your collection.  Do you think I own too much makeup?

Review: Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow

Super sad news, my camera is pretty much broken.  So you guys are going to have to put up with my sad phone camera photos until I can save up enough money to get a new camera.

Anyway, I picked up a Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow in Constant Copper.  And I’d like to say that if you are looking for an easy, on-the-go base, that’s exactly what these are.  Pigmentation was pretty sad on these, so if that’s what you want, I’d skip these.

Packaging is awesome though!  I don’t know why, but the little pots (like MAC Paint Pots and Maybelline Color Tatoos) always make me feel a little weary.  Plus they’re a tad bulkier to travel with.

This color was lighter than what I was anticipating, but that’s just due to lack of pigmentation.  I’m sure if I sat there and built it up it would have looked like the swatch on the packaging.

They did last on me for 8 hours without creasing though (and that’s without using a primer).  Towards the 7-hour mark it was starting to fade though.  If I had put a primer underneath (although that would sort of making this product redundant) though I probably wouldn’t have seen any fading.

Overall Grade: C+.  I prefer these due to their stick format and light pigmentation, but as far as a product goes, it’s just average and nothing special.

NOTD: Essie Wrapped in Rubies

Essie Wrapped in Rubies is a deep burgundy color. It was practically opaque in 1 coat, but of course I did 2 anyway. What a fantastic fall or winter color!
