NOTD: Sally Hansen Lustre Shine in Lava

20130428-221809.jpg

Wow, it’s been forever since I did one of these.  Since I blogged at all really.  I think my nails are finally back to normal.  It took forever though.

Lava is a great duochrome color.  It switches between hot pink and orange.  When indoors it seems mostly pink/coral.  The picture above was taken inside with artificial lighting and no flash.

Haul: Spring 2013 Polishes

So, while I’ve been on Project Pan 2.0, I have also been on a polish low-buy.  As in, I can only purchase 2 nail polishes every quarter.  And even that is probably more than I need.

I don’t remember getting any for the last 2 seasons as I’m not much for winter/fall colors.  At any rate, I got my 2 for this season at CVS and thought I’d show you guys.

On the left is Peachy Breeze.  My lighting was pretty bad though and the color in real life is more of a bold salmon.  I think my lighting just washed out the colors a little bit.

On the right is Misty Rose.  It just looked like a gorgeous color that had to come home with me.  It a tad bit more pink in real life, but not by much.

So sorry for not writing more.  I just don’t know what to write about.  I think next I’ll do a few reviews for the products I just got with a Sephora gift card.  I hope that doesn’t mean I was breaking Project Pan 2.0.  If I use a gift card it doesn’t count right?  I don’t think it does.

What polishes are you lusting after this season?

Review: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15

So, this is going to be a pretty quick post, not much to it actually.  This is just a pretty pricey lip balm that Sephora gave out as their birthday gift last year.  The full-size will put you back $22 a pop.  Is it worth the giant splurge?

Well, I don’t think that it is.  Not truly worth it anyway.  Is it a nice lip balm that’s really moisturizing?  Definitely.  And if I was made of money and could afford it, I would purchase it.  There are also tinted ones (I’ve only tried the Rose version, but it was a nice pink color).  I’d be more inclined to purchase a tinted one than the regular ones, but this is a very luxurious night lip treatment.  In fact, with my gift card I’m planning on purchasing their newest color, Petal.

Unfortunately, for $22 I could buy a lot more.  In fact, I think I could buy a relatively decent router for that amount.  And what’s even worse, my Nivea A Kiss of Milk and Honey is just as good at keeping my lips moisturized over night.

Overall Grade: C.  I just would never be able to justify spending $22 on a clear lip balm.  Not when I can get my beloved Nivea for just a few bucks.

Did you get these last year when they were so popular?  What did you think?
