My Current Makeup Collection – January 2014

And to finish off my collection week mini-series we have my makeup collection.  It may not be extra vast compared to some, but it is probably more than I could use in a lifetime.  At least it definitely is for some of these categories.  There are no no-buy rules in effect for this as Project Pan 3.0 is still going.  Those rules can be found here.

I have quite a few things of face products, but I have definitely been working on them.  Here’s to hoping that I finish something soon.

I also have a ton of eye shadow.  I really need to work on using this stuff up.  I have gotten pretty close to finishing a Prime Time primer shadow though.  At least I feel like I’m getting close to finishing it.

I’m not sure how this happened, but I have the least amount of lip products as I’ve had in a very long time.  It’s great, but I do think that I’ll end up getting more, like always.

Did you enjoy this mini-series?  I think I might do this at the beginning of every year.

My Current Body Care Collection – January 2014

So, this has gotten  little out of control.  I’m not sure how it got this way either.  I think I just enjoyed all of the scents too much and bought like a crazy person.  I haven’t changed the way I store this stuff since the last time I did a collection post.  It all fits pretty nicely in my Rubbermaid Large Bento Box.

So right now I have 3 opened lotions and 14 new lotions with a goal of 6 total lotions.  I also have 1 opened hand cream, 2 new hand creams, and 1 eczema cream that I don’t count with my lotions since I only use it in small areas.

Currently I have 1 opened soap (not pictured) and 4 new soaps with a goal of 4 total soaps.  I also have 2 opened shower gels and 4 new shower gels with a goal of 3 total shower gels.  In this picture I also included the Sandy Paws shower body butter that I didn’t know what category to put it in.

I have my goal total of 2 scrubs :).  I have 3 opened lip balms and 1 new lip balm with a goal of 3 total lip balms.  I also have 2 opened perfumes and 7 new perfumes with a goal of 9 total perfumes.  I really am trying to work my way through those perfumes though.

Body Care No-Buy Rules: I will not buy any more body care items (including subscription boxes) until I am down to 8 lotions, 4 shower gels, and 2 soaps.

My Current Nail Polish Collection – January 2014

So, nail polish is part of my Project Pan 3.0, so it doesn’t have it’s own no-buy rules.  If you want to see my Project Pan 3.0 rules, look here.

As you can see, not much has changed in terms of my nail polish collection.  I still need to make a new holder for it.  Perhaps the next time I can make it straighter and maybe a little more sturdy.  Maybe it’s going to be worse, who knows.

Currently my inventory is 55 opened polishes and 8 new polishes with a goal of staying under 65 polishes total.

My Current Wax Collection – January 2014

I have quite a modest wax collection currently, but I already am starting to feel like I have too much.  Maybe it’s just because I have some things that have been hanging around my house for more than a year without being melted/burned.

Currently they are all stored in a little fabric drawer in my craft office closet.  Not the most ideal storage system, but it’s what I have to work with right now.

Some of this wax is actually partially melted/burned.  I just would like to get these out of my house so that I can get new things in.  It’s mostly the Candles by Victoria melts that have been hanging around.  They are definitely the only ones that have been around for more than 1 year.  So it’s definitely time for them to go before I go crazy and buy a bunch of vendor wax.

Wax No-Buy Rules: No more buying wax (of any kind) until I am down to 1 candle and 2 melts.

My Current Loose-Leaf Tea Collection – January 2014

Since this is the new year I think I’m going to do a few collection posts, this being the first of 5.  Mostly for posterity to see how they grow/shrink by the end of the year.  As I am currently on a tea no-buy (along with a lot of other no-buys), this collection shouldn’t really do much growing.

At the end of 2013 I ended up buying quite a few teas through the Heavenly Sale at Teavana (that’s where I get all of my loose-leaf tea from currently).

As you can see, I have:

  • Teavana Earl Grey Creme Black Tea – this is one of my absolute favorite teas.  This is just a smoother version of Earl Grey (which I also love a lot).  I will be so sad when I run out and can’t buy any more until my no-buy is over.
  • Teavana Strawberry Rose Champagne Oolong/Peach Tranquility Herbal blend – this is just a lovely, light blend.  I enjoy this all the time, but I adore it in the afternoon or on the weekends the best.
  • Teavana Samurai Chai Mate/Maharaja Chai Oolong blend sample – they claim that this is for 1-16 oz. mug of tea.  I can get about a week of use out of this though.  It is quite spicy and that worried me at first since I don’t typically like that in my tea, but I do enjoy it.  It might be all the rock sugar that’s in it though.
  • Teavana Azteca Fire Herbal Tea – I haven’t tried this one yet, but it’s supposed to taste like chocolate covered strawberries.
  • Teavana White Chocolate Peppermint Rooibos Tea – this tastes amazing.  I don’t know what it is about it, but it just tastes like a smooth peppermint hot cocoa.  I don’t typically like peppermint tea, but the white chocolate mellows it out.
  • Teavana Spiced Apple Cider  Rooibos Tea – this is another one that I haven’t tried yet, but I’m excited too.  I love apple cider.
  • Teavana Orange Chocolate Sweet Spice Herbal Tea – yet another I haven’t tried yet (can you see why I have to go on a no-buy?).  I’m excited to see exactly what this tastes like.
  • Teavana Pumpkin Spice Brulee Oolong Tea – and the last one that I haven’t tried yet.  I’m actually a bit nervous to try it actually.  It just doesn’t sound like something I would like, but I’m going to give it a whirl and see how it goes.

Tea No-Buy Rules: I will not buy any tea (in any form) until I’m down to 10 tea bags and 2 oz. of loose-leaf tea.

Are there any that you’d like a specific review on?  Any that you think I should get when I’m done with my tea no-buy?
